Woods Services Framework Plan

After growing organically over nearly 100 years, Woods Services sought a framework to guide the development of its 285-acre campus to meet the evolving and complex needs of the staff, residents, and visitors. With a care model that combines medical treatment with housing, education, and recreation, the nonprofit needed a plan that maximizes its existing assets – including nearly 80 buildings – while remaining flexible enough to keep Woods Services nimble in a strict regulatory environment.

This masterplan framework maximizes their existing assets, reorganizes the housing into smart neighborhoods, consolidates education and care facilities, and reimagines the public realm, landscape, and infrastructure. The framework transforms the campus into a pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use community that addresses immediate needs while laying the groundwork for the future transformation of the campus and extension of services.
